It took six articulated lorries to transport the Potain MD 285 B tower crane, owned by the general contractor INSO, from Malta to Imola Gru’s Renova workshop. A break of ten days or so for a complete overhaul, before setting off again for a new construction site in Serbia.
The machine, which when assembled measures over 45 metres in lifting height and has a boom almost 70 metres long, will be overhauled with inspections of the various mechanical and electromechanical components. Upon its arrival, it was connected up to inspect its state of wear and tear, and identify the interventions needed to guarantee its suitability for the new construction site.
The plan of interventions will then be agreed with INSO, evaluating the level of detail required in the maintenance. In fact, overhaul and maintenance plans are always agreed with the customer, modifying them depending on availability, time frames and the type of work the machine carries out. This flexibility guarantees a high level of personalisation in our service, ensuring maximum safety and efficiency for the machine.
