Once the installing company carries out the first assembly and issues its certificate of suitability for use, the audit log must be managed by whoever has control of the machine, whether it is the owner or the user. If there is a real risk of losing or damaging the audit log, it is advised to make a copy (also to be kept updated) and to keep the original in a safe place. If requested, it must be possible at all times to show the completed audit log to the authorities in charge.
All tests must be noted in writing, and at least those within the last 3 years must be kept available for inspecting bodies (art. 71 clause 9 Italian Leg. Decree 81/08).
