An Employer who puts a new piece of equipment into service must immediately inform the INAIL Department (formerly ISPESL) in charge of the territory (through the designated forms made available by INAIL), which will then assign an identification number and communicate it to the Employer.
At least 60 days before the periodic inspection deadline set by attachment VII of Italian Leg. Decree 81/08 as amended, the Employer must request the first periodic inspection from the INAIL Department in charge of the territory. The inspection request must be submitted using the designated form made available by INAIL, indicating the name of the qualified entity INAIL can make use of in case it is not possible to carry out the inspection within 45 days of the request. Once the above-indicated term of forty-five days has passed without an inspection, the employer may make use of the qualified entity in accordance with Italian Ministerial Decree 11/04/2011.
